Award-winning Care
University Hospital is the first hospital in New Jersey certified by The Joint Commission for Advanced Heart Failure Care. First certified in 2010, University Hospital has been recertified four times with a Certificate of Distinction every two years and has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Heart Failure Accreditation every 2 years by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal is a symbol of quality that reflects a health care organization’s commitment to providing safe and quality patient care.
The Joint Commission
An independent, not-for-profit organization, The Joint Commission (TJC) accredits and certifies over 22,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Joint Commission accreditation and certification is recognized nationwide as the gold seal of approval for a hospital’s commitment to patient safety and quality care. In addition to certification for Advanced Heart Failure Care, University Hospital overall is accredited by TJC.
In addition, the American Heart Association (AHA), in its hospital-based quality improvement Get With the Guidelines® (GWTG)-Heart Failure program, has awarded University Hospital “Gold Plus” and “Target: Heart Failure Honor Roll” recognition for Heart Failure for 2021.
This award recognizes our hospital’s commitment to ensuring heart failure patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines founded in the latest scientific evidence. The goal is speeding recovery and reducing hospital readmissions for heart failure patients.
University Hospital is dedicated to improving the quality of care for our patients with heart failure by implementing the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines-Heart Failure initiative.
