A Guide for Visitors

We are committed to making your experience as pleasant as possible while your loved one is being cared for. We embrace patient and family-centered care and the substantial strengths and resources that families provide during this time.

Visitation plays an important role in that process. This waiting room is intended to provide a comfortable place for you and other families who have loved ones being cared for. To accommodate the needs of everyone, we ask the following:

Limit visitors to two (2) individuals at a time. Other waiting locations including the lobby and cafeteria can be used for additional family members to wait.

  • No blankets or pillows can be brought from home. These pose an infection-prevention & control risk for our patients and staff.
  • Only small snacks and drinks  can be consumed in this room. Examples of a small snack would be a cookie, donut, bagel.  Meals should be taken to the cafeteria, food from home can not be stored in the waiting room.
  • Wash your hands before and after you visit with your loved one. Refrain from visiting the hospital if you feel sick or have symptoms of a cold or flu.  These are important to decrease the risk of infection.

The Surgical ICU is open for visitation for two (2) visitors at a time during the following hours:
