University Hospital’s Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center’s primary objective is to maximize the function of individuals with physical or mental disability so they can resume their life roles.  This is accomplished through delivery of compassionate, comprehensive, evidence-based patient care services and with the active involvement of patients, family and care-givers in the rehabilitation process.

Patients from infancy through adulthood are served by all therapeutic specialties with the exception of Therapeutic Recreation which is only available in the Adult Acute Psychiatric Unit.

The department accepts all patients with an order (referral) from a physician or an independent non-physician provider with an appropriate diagnosis for the discipline referred.
