Our Approach
The Medical (Non-Surgical) Weight Loss program utilizes a multi-faceted process with patients to address weight loss without the need for surgical intervention. The program utilizes the following approach:
- Nutrition
A healthy nutrition plan is the foundation of any weight loss journey. We will work with you to find a nutrition plan that helps you achieve your weight loss goals. We work closely with our nutritionist to make sure you are losing weight in a healthy and safe way. - Behavioral Changes
Sometimes the hardest part of a weight loss plan is sticking to that plan. Finding ways to stick to your plan during a special occasion, eating out, times of stress, or when having cravings requires an individualized approach. We will work with you on motivational behavior techniques to help you in these situations or refer you to a trained behavioral health specialist. - Physical Activity
Staying active is an essential part of the weight loss journey and living a healthier life. Physical activity has many benefits, including improving your metabolism and helping you stay motivated and on track. - Medications
Some patients may benefit from the addition of weight loss medications. They work best when used together with a balanced nutrition plan, physical activity and healthy lifestyle.
Our goal is to help you improve your overall health and well-being. Studies have shown that even a modest weight loss of 5-10% of your body weight can improve health conditions such as diabetes, cholesterol, and high blood pressure. Sometimes, when a large amount of weight loss is desired or medically needed, bariatric surgery may be the best option. We work in collaboration with our bariatric surgeons to evaluate if this may be the right pathway for you.
