Bariatric endoscopy, an alternative to bariatric surgery, includes procedures and devices that are placed in the stomach during an endoscopic procedure. Specialists go through your mouth to get to your stomach, and use a number of devices and procedure options, including short-term, reversible or long-term procedures. These procedures are done without incisions (or surgical cuts), since the entire procedure is done through the mouth.
