University Hopsital’s Plastic Surgery center offers a comprehensive range of surgical services for the treatment of disorders and injuries, as well as elective cosmetic procedures.

Particular expertise is available in the reconstruction of tumor defects from oncologic procedures, including breast reconstruction and salivary gland treatment.

The diagnosis and treatment of all varieties of skin cancer is another field of interest, including reconstruction following Mohs surgery. The treatment of complex wounds includes assessment and treatment with the latest modalities. FDA-sponsored clinical trials of developing advanced technologies for wound healing are offered for qualified patients at no cost.

Congenital deformities, such as cleft lip and palate, are treated in concert with a multidisciplinary Craniofacial Center. All other deformities, including traumatic, post-radiation, post-surgical, etc., are managed using the latest surgical techniques, including extensive experience with microsurgical procedures. Hand surgery, including treatment of industrial accidents, is a specialty of the division. A center for re-plantation and microsurgery is based at University Hospital, offering treatment for traumatic amputations.

In addition to major reconstructive procedures, cosmetic surgery is also a major focus of the Division, with a special concentration on facial rejuvenation (facelift, browlift, eyelid surgery, rhinoplasty, ear surgery, etc.), and body contouring (liposuction, abdominoplasty, breast enhancement, and breast lifting), particularly after bariatric surgery or any significant weight loss.
