The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is responsible for treating patients with diseases of the face, jaws, and maxillofacial region. The faculty provides consultation and surgical services across the entire scope of this specialty, including: the acute management of major facial trauma; the reconstruction of the facial skeleton following traumatic injuries or cancer ablation; the surgical management of craniofacial and jaw deformities; treatment of major infections and benign cysts and tumors of the maxillofacial region; treatment of oral cancer; the placement of dental implants; surgical management of temporomandibular joint disorders; facial pain management and microsurgery of the trigeminal nerve; as well as surgery to improve facial appearance.
