A Personalized Approach To Advanced Vascular Care

Advanced Vascular Care

The Vascular Center at University Hospital is setting the standard of care for those patients suffering from problems involving their circulatory system, arteries and veins. Our aim is to improve their quality of life through a comprehensive, multidisciplinary treatment approach to address the issue, improve vascular health and relieve symptoms.

Diseases of the arteries can include blocked arteries of the limbs causing pain when walking (claudication) or even the development of pain at rest or non-healing wounds. Additionally, arteries that have become enlarged are called aneurysms and may be putting patients at risk of rupture and death. Blocked arteries to the brain lead to strokes. Varicose veins are dilated veins related to venous insufficiency which can cause pain and potentially lead to chronic swelling and wound development.

Our process begins with a comprehensive consultation with a member of our expert Vascular Team. We conduct a thorough medical history focused on individual health concerns that may contribute to vascular disease, such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol. Together we assess lifestyle factors to learn about diet, and physical activities. Patients are then tested within the center with advanced non-invasive vascular testing.

At University Hospital our approach encompasses the entire family and focuses on improving your quality of life. From the outset, we strive to build a foundation of trust and open communication in order to create a personalized treatment plan that addresses the needs of both patient and family.
