Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine
The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine (DAYAM) provides comprehensive primary medical and psychosocial care of adolescents and young adults from the ages of 12 to 25. DAYAM’s staff of adolescent specialists also address specialized health and behavioral issues such as adolescent gynecology, substance abuse, physical and sexual abuse, HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, eating disorders, and delinquency/conduct disorders.
In addition, DAYAM supports organized programs that focus on adolescent HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment; youth violence prevention and intervention; school dropout prevention; adolescent health promotion; and support for young fathers.
DAYAM’s clinical offices are located on the Newark campus. Specialized programs are located in Newark, East Orange, Orange, and Paterson.
