Robert J. Rubino, MD, FACOG is an alumnus of Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School and completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at University Hospital. He is the founder of the Rubino OB/GYN group, leading one of the largest women’s healthcare practices in Northern N.J. with offices in West Orange, Summit, Madison, Clark and Bayonne. Dr. Rubino served as the Residency Director for the Rutgers-NJMS Obstetrics and Gynecology program at Overlook Medical Center from 2000-2003.

Dr. Rubino has been committed to medical education and advancing women’s health for over 20 years. He is a published author in medical peer review journals on the topic of minimally invasive procedures. He established a medical research mentoring program “Tomorrow’s MDs” for Summit High School students. Dr. Rubino has been involved in the medical device sector as a founder of Emmy Medical, manufacturer of the Cystosure catheter system.

Dr. Rubino is at the forefront of technological advances and was an early champion of incorporating the electronic medical record (EMR) into his practice. Outside of the medical world, he was a founding board member of the Palo Alto based company “Perzo” which evolved into “Symphony Communications Services, LLC”, a secure messaging company.  This is now one of the main communication platforms in the finance sector as it was acquired by Goldman Sachs and other major U.S. banks in September 2014.

In addition, Dr. Rubino is active in his community as an elected official.  He is a Councilman for the city of Summit, NJ, serving as Council President in 2014 and 2015. He is spearheading the development of the Summit Park Line, an elevated pedestrian park similar to the NYC Highline, and recently secured the 1.2 mile stretch of abandoned railway from the State of New Jersey. Dr. Rubino is President of the Summit Park Line Foundation and is a long-standing board member on the Red Cross NJ Crossroads chapter.

Dr. Rubino resides in Summit, N.J with his wife, Dr. Susan Rubino, also an alumnus of Rutgers-NJMS and their 3 children.
