Chief Compliance Officer

Astara Crews is the Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer for University Hospital. In her role, Astara oversees compliance initiatives, contributing to the institution’s commitment to providing high-quality healthcare. Previously, Astara served as Chief Compliance Officer at a large multi-specialty integrated physician practice that provides services the NY Metro area, and served as the Senior Compliance Officer for Nuvance Health, a healthcare system based in CT and the Hudson Valley.  She holds a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology, Biology, and Chemistry from CUNY Lehman College, as well as a Master of Jurisprudence in Health Law and Enterprise Risk Management from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Astara also serves on the National Advisory Board of AAPC as the Career Development Officer.
