STATEMENT FROM DR. SHEREEF ELNAHAL, PRESIDENT & CEO OF UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL, IN RESPONSE TO TODAY’S HOSPITAL VIOLENCE INTERVENTION GRANT AWARD ANNOUNCEMENTS BY GOVERNOR MURPHY

“We are honored to have started the state’s first Hospital-based Violence Intervention Program, and that our service to the community has achieved results that were recognized by so many of our state’s leaders. Today’s announcement is a testament to how many more people in NJ stand to benefit from this work,” said Dr. Shereef Elnahal, President and CEO of University Hospital. “I want to thank Governor Murphy and Attorney General Grewal for recognizing that violence is a public health issue. This grant will allow our program to expand, reaching more patients, and saving more lives.”
