Psychiatry

The Department of Psychiatry provides a full spectrum of subspecialty services to individuals and groups. Expert care is offered in both primary and tertiary care in a wide variety of psychiatric specialties.

University Psychiatric Associates is the group practice of the Department of Psychiatry. It is composed of faculty members from the Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School Department of Psychiatry, including board-certified psychiatrists and other mental health professionals such as social workers, nurses and established researchers. All staff have sub-specialty expertise in general psychiatry, and many staff have additional expertise.

University Psychiatric Associates offers both traditional, individual practices, including consultation and the complete range of treatment modalities for adults and children, as well as several specialty programs, drawing upon the expertise of the faculty. Special services for Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking patients are available.

University Hospital Psychiatry Consultation Liaison Service also provides consultative expertise to the medical and surgical teams at the hospital.
