Volunteer Services

Adult Program Overview

Adult volunteers make a difference through services that help patients, visitors, and employees within the hospital. Whether they are visiting patients, assisting on nursing units, helping with special events or providing administrative support, adult volunteers play an important role in patient satisfaction and offer an added dimension of personal service to the hospital community.

Application process

We invite mature, committed, compassionate, individuals who have a willingness to participate in all aspects of the volunteer program.  We encourage applications from individuals aspiring to develop a career in healthcare and from individuals who want to share their time with our patients. We do not participate in externships.

All individuals wishing to volunteer will complete an application packet that includes a background check and medical clearance. You will also be asked for a current photo ID. Applicants are welcome to complete packets in the volunteer office, Monday-Thursday, 9 am -2pm. All applications will be reviewed and selected candidates will be scheduled for a formal interview.

Volunteer requirements

All volunteers will be expected to speak and dress in a professional manner. Volunteers must adhere to the safety guidelines and patient confidentiality at all times.  We ask that all volunteers commit to at least 6 months of service and contribute a minimum of 4 hours on their volunteer day. All volunteers must attend the 3-hour mandatory hospital orientation prior to starting their volunteer work.
