DAVID BRODY, MD
Dr. David Brody recently retired as a board certified internist and gastroenterologist with more than 35 years of experience. Since retiring, he has continued his involvement in medical education, most recently assisting the American Board of Internal Medicine by beta testing the 2014 maintenance of competency test.
Dr. Brody received a degree in biological sciences from Rutgers and his MD from New Jersey Medical School in 1974. He was chief medical resident and chief gastroenterology fellow there. He was clinical assistant professor of medicine at the school with a hospital appointment to University Hospital from 1980 to 1992.
At Bon Secours community Hospital in Port Jervis, New York, Dr. Brody served as Chief of Medicine, Chief of the Intensive Care Unit and Chief of Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He currently holds emeritus status at that hospital in recognition of a long and distinguished career.
A resident of Montague, Dr. Brody is a member of numerous medical societies and author of several scientific papers dealing with liver disease.
He was appointed to the University Hospital Board of Directors on September 15, 2014, for a term that will expire in 2019.
